Where community meets wellness, one page at a time!
Featured book and upcoming meeting!
Featured Book: The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt
Date: Monday June 1, 2025
Time: 7:00–8:30 PM
Location: Catalyst Movement Clinic
This book investigates the collapse of youth mental health that coincided with the rise of the smartphone. Haidt argues that replacing "play-based childhoods" with "phone-based childhoods" has rewired the adolescent brain, leading to increased anxiety and social isolation. He offers a practical "action plan" for parents and communities to reclaim childhood by delaying social media use and restoring independent, real-world play.
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts at our upcoming meeting! Hope you can join us!
About book club
The Health and Wellness Book Club was born from a shared love of learning, wellness, and meaningful conversation. As healthcare practitioners, we found ourselves constantly recommending books to patients, friends, and each other—so we decided to create a space to explore those ideas together.
Our book club is a casual, inclusive gathering where we read health and wellness-related books and come together to chat about what inspired us, challenged us, or made us think differently. Whether you're a practitioner, a patient, a book lover, or just curious about health, you're invited. We meet every 8-10 weeks, and each meetup is an opportunity to connect, reflect, and grow—one book at a time.
Come for the books, stay for the community.
